Michal Bauer ist Absolvent der Schule für angewandte Kunst und Design in Uherské Hradiště und der Akademie für Kunst, Architektur und Design in Prag. Mit der Malerei beschäftigt er sich seit seinem fünfzehnten Lebensjahr. Zwanzig Jahre lang arbeitete er in Teilzeit als Modellentwickler in der deutschen und italienischen Autoindustrie. Seine Werke hat er in 47 Einzelausstellungen und in 37 Kollektivausstellungen präsentiert, über 200 seiner Werke sind in Privatsammlungen in zehn verschiedenen europäischen Ländern vertreten. Typisch für seine Werke ist Kontinuität der Richtung und eine auf das Höchste ausgearbeitete, unverwechselbare Form, die durch eine sehr arbeitsaufwendige Technik entsteht. Die reliefartigen Strukturen kontrastieren mit der glatten Oberfläche, wobei Schatten eine leichte Bewegung auslösen, die die perfekte Symmetrie der geometrischen Kompositionen wiederbelebt. Seine Bilder sind ein Raum voll stiller Energie, in dem die minimalistische Form nur ein Werkzeug ist, um eine Botschaft auszudrücken, die jedem zugänglich ist, der bereit ist, anzuhalten und ohne Worte zuzuhören, um durch Bilder zu hören.
